Manga Review: Skip Beat! by Yoshiki Nakamura

Synopsis from Mangafox.com: Kyouko Mogami lived solely for her childhood friend Shoutaro "Shou" Fuwa. She follows Shou to Tokyo so that he may realize his dream of becoming a famous singer. When his dream is realized, Kyouko overhears the truth behind his decision to bringing her with him: he was using her as a maid.

Shocked and enraged, Kyouko swears to take revenge by outdoing him in show business. With a new look and a new attitude, she joins LME, the agency where Ren Tsuruga (Shou's rival and the #1 actor of LME) works, in the hopes of achieving her goal of destroying Shou's pride.

Along the way, she discovers her true self, makes new friends (and enemies), and finds herself at the heart of some interesting situations that will change her life, and the lives of all others involved, forever.

Review

Skip Beat is one of the funniest shojo mangas I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading, it’s funny and heartwarming. For all those who don’t particularly like the typical school romance than this manga is for you since romance is pretty prominent in Skip Beat but Nakamura Yoshiki writes it in such a way that just makes your finger tips tingle with glee. If there’s anything I hate more than bad plot it’s weak heroins who can’t stand their own grounds but Kyoko is far from that.
She changes from this completely Shotaro devoted fangirl to an independent and confident actress who don’t need no man to complete her. The manga just goes through her quirky rise to stardom adventures and the people you meet along the way are just so unique, the manga can’t help but put you at the edge of your seat for more.
When I first read the manga I was like

It’s just too amazing. It has so many elements that a lot of other shojo manga doesn’t have like the insane stuff the LME director likes to do. Kyoko has some of the craziest freak-outs ever! ^w^

(His entrance)
You can read the manga on mangafox.com.
There’s also an anime and a Taiwanese drama adaption with a Korean one coming soon.
Overall I rate this series five grudge spirits out of five.
Yuki's new signiture...yes she drew it :)
