Review on Teespring: The Kickstarter of Teeshirt Making

What I Learned After Playing Around with Designing on Teespring
(Note: This is a sponsored post for my honest opinion on Teespring.)

Photo Requirements: See picture below. But also the image have to be bigger than 553px wide by 363px high. And you can only select an image with 10 colours or less.

Personally, I think the restrictions aren't that bad. For the price of the shirts, I think it is reasonable. I wish they can do more than 10 colours but that's okay. 

Text: There are tons of font to choose from. You can change the colour, add an outline (thin, medium or thick).
This I thought was quite fun to have. The variety of fonts in the system really helps with those who just want text on the shirt. Great!

Shirt Colour: You can choose from 30 different shirt colours.
I think the colours limitation are bit restricting. If there is a colour wheel to choose from, that would be perfect!

Shirt Style: There are 8 styles to choose from - Basic Tee, Women's Relax Fit, Women's Slim Fit, Long Sleeve, Tank Top, V-Neck Tee, Hoodies, or Camouflage.
I seriously love the options here! Most of the time you just get a(n) (oh so flattering) box t-shirt. But having 8 options of shirt style with Woman's style, fabulous! Plus I noticed the price to be reasonable.

Material: You can choose from Budget Friendly, Premiun Materials, or Top of the Line. Of course the price will increase as you better your material.
One of the other features that I like about Teespring. I seriously appreciate the options plus the price, once again, is reasonable for each option.

Shipping: US starts from $3.85 (arrives 10-14 days after end of campaign), Canada starts from $7.50 (arrives 17-21 days after end of campaign), International starts from $10.50 (arrives 17- 21 days after end of campaign).
This is when I wish I lived in the US. T^T  Ah well. I mean the rates are reasonable, nothing too crazy but I can totally understand if you are international and have to pay $10.50 for shipping. Eeks! Kind of hurts a little.

Other: There is a printable barrier for the shirt so you can't just put your image or text anywhere you like. And not only can you design the front of the shirt, you can design the back.  I mean I know that is what every shirt designing website is like but I hope Teespring gets more creative and allows more options in the placement of the image/text. I want some designs on the sleeves~~ ^^

After Designing

Now comes your campaign goals and your profit part.

You get to set your goal and the selling price of the shirt. Notice how with the increase in the number of shirts you reserve, the price of production decreases. And since you can set your own selling price of the shirt, you get a bigger profit.

Anyone can come and design a shirt which they can then sell via Facebook, Twitter or anywhere else online. The seller keeps all of the profit the shirt earns. People use Teespring as a fundraising tool or just to earn some extra money.

Conclusion:
I really like the concept of this. Especially if you have a cause or groups to design for. For example, I am the VP of my university book club, this can totally work with my club. Or maybe it doesn't have to be for a book club, maybe for a fan club? For example, Kuroko no Basuke? I can let my friends draw some original images that can be printed on the shirt. Seriously I think the price of the shirts are super reasonable. There are some designed shirts that sell for $100. Rip off! With this, a hoodie can be made with around $30 (the Akashi one I designed above was around $20). When you think about it, a normal hoodie costs about $30, let alone one you designed and love. A definite WIN here!

More Things to Know about Teespring:

• You only pay for the shirt(s) if the campaign reaches their goal. I personally think this is fantastic. Because the shirts will only be printed after the goal is reached, this is safe for buyers.
• You can launch a campaign from anywhere around the world, not use US. Woot! I can start one too!
• Each campaign can run for 3-21 days.
