Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly
meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine where book bloggers devote a post to
an upcoming book release they are particularly looking forward to reading.
Seraphina
Seraphina Dombegh has reason to fear both sides. An unusually gifted musician, she joins the court just as a member of the royal family is murdered—in suspiciously draconian fashion. Seraphina is drawn into the investigation, partnering with the captain of the Queen's Guard, the dangerously perceptive Prince Lucian Kiggs. While they begin to uncover hints of a sinister plot to destroy the peace, Seraphina struggles to protect her own secret, the secret behind her musical gift, one so terrible that its discovery could mean her very life.
In her exquisitely written fantasy debut, Rachel Hartman creates a rich, complex, and utterly original world. Seraphina's tortuous journey to self-acceptance is one readers will remember long after they've turned the final page.

Insignia (Insignia #1)
Then one day, Tom stops being invisible. Someone’s been watching his virtual-reality prowess, and he’s offered the incredible—a place at the Pentagonal Spire, an elite military academy. There, Tom’s instincts for combat will be put to the test, and if he passes, he’ll become a member of the Intrasolar Forces, helping to lead his country to victory in World War Three. Finally, he’ll be someone important: a superhuman war machine with the tech skills that every virtual-reality warrior dreams of. Life at the Spire holds everything that Tom’s always wanted—friends, the possibility of a girlfriend, and a life where his every action matters—but what will it cost him?
Gripping and provocative, S. J. Kincaid’s futuristic thrill ride of a debut crackles with memorable characters, tremendous wit, and a vision of the future that asks startling, timely questions about the melding of humanity and technology.

Why These Books?
Oh Seraphina! How I want you! Secrets, dragons, murder, investigation, music and more?! You have it all! <3 I cannot describe my feelings right now toward this book!
And as for Insingia, well, the phrase "elite military academy" got me, bad! War, fighting, technologies, and love? Plus Katherine Tegen Books had not failed me yet! I am hoping this book will bring back similiar feelings I had with Department 19 by Will Hill! Amazing plot and concept! Cannot simply wait for this!
